Tokios didingos šventės Šeštokai buvo nematę (nuotr. galerija)

Sekmadienį Šeštokų Švč. M. Marijos, Nuolatinės Gelbėtojos, bažnyčia šventė savo šimtmetį - pilnutėliuose Dievo namuose paminėta neeilinė sukaktis.  „Esame kelyje su Viešpačiu. Eikime juo“, - ragino tikinčiuosius Šeštokų parapijos klebonas Valdemaras Smulskis. 

Kauno arkivyskupą metropolitą Kęstutį Kėvalą ir Vilkaviškio vyskupijos vyskupą Rimantą Norvilą pasitiko gausi šio krašto tikinčiųjų bendruomenė, taip pat dvasininkai. 

Kauno arkivyskupas metropolitas K. Kėvalas aukojo šv. Mišias, koncelebravo kiti kunigai. „Malda karšta, gyva ir tiesiai į Viešpaties širdį. Jūrininkai turi tokį posakį: kas nėra skendęs, nėra meldęsis. Ar kitas posakis iš karo lauko: apkasuose netikinčių nėra, visi tikintys. Kai žmogus pažvelgia mirčiai į akis, jis šaukiasi Dievo – gyvenimo autoriaus“, - sakė Kauno arkivyskupas K. Kėvalas. 

Gausybė sveikintojų sveikino Šeštokų parapijos kleboną Valdemarą Smulskį su bažnyčios 100-mečiu bei jo paties 40-mečiu.  Pasveikinti atvyko Seimo nariai Vilius Semeška, linkėjęs taikaus dangaus, Robertas Šarknickas, prabilęs eilėmis, Zenonas Streikus, atvežęs dovanų lininių staltiesių, kurios sukviestų bendruomenę prie stalo. Tik ką iš Dainų šventės grįžęs į iškilmes atvyko ir Lazdijų rajono savivaldybės tarybos narys Artūras Margelis... 

Vilkaviškio vyskupijos vyskupas R. Norvila gi linkėjo parapijos žmonėms: „Šimtas metų žmogui daug, bažnyčiai – tai pradžia, pradžia gražių darbų. Sakoma, gera pradžia – pusė darbo. Lai būna ta pradžia daugiau nei pusė darbo“. 

Plačiau - naujausioje ,,Lazdijų reklamoje" (2024-07-09).
