Lazdijuose lankėsi Europos Parlamento narė Laima Andrikienė

Gegužės 8 d., Europos dienos minėjimo išvakarėse, Lazdijuose viešėjo Europos Parlamento narė Laima Andrikienė kartu su ten dirbančiais padėjėjais. Svečiai pirmiausia susitiko su Lazdijų rajono savivaldybės meru Artūru Margeliu ir savivaldybės administracijos direktoriumi Gintautu Salatka,  vėliau aplankė Lazdijų Motiejaus Gustaičio gimnaziją ir trečios klasės gimnazistams vedė Europos pamoką.

Lazdijų rajono savivaldybės meras Artūras Margelis su Europos Parlamento nare L. Andrikiene  susitikimo metu   aptarė rajono ūkio situaciją,  galvijininkystę. Rajono meras supažindino viešnią su įgyvendinamais projektais, buvo kalbėta apie Lietuvos ir Lenkijos pasienio deklaracijos, kuri buvo pasirašyta šių metų kovo mėnesį tikslus,  taip pat aptarti ir Lietuvos ir regioninės politikos klausimai. 

Po susitikimo Lazdijų rajono savivaldybėje, Europos Parlamento narė L. Andrikienė pirmą kartą lankėsi Lazdijų Motiejaus Gustaičio gimnazijoje. Čia  kartu su kolega žurnalistu Valentinu Mite netradiciškai vedė 45 min. trukmės pamoką apie Europos Sąjungą. L. Andrikienė jaunajai kartai papasakojo apie kelią, kurį teko nueiti Lietuvai iki narystės NATO ir  Europos Sąjungoje.  Papasakojo apie savo veiklą, pasidalino mintimis apie Europos Sąjungos svarbą Lietuvai, mokiniams pristatė dabar Europos  Parlamente svarstomus aktualius klausimus bei Jungtinių Amerikos Valstijų  ir Europos Sąjungos santykius. Pamokos pabaigoje L. Andrikienė  pakvietė grupelę gimnazistų apsilankyti Europos Parlamente.  Atsisveikindama su mokiniais viešnia linkėjo saugoti Lietuvą ir Europą, nes norint gyventi stiprioje valstybėje,  Europos Sąjungos tvirtybė labai reikalinga.
